Merry Christmas

I just wanted to say really quick how grateful I am for my Savior, Jesus Christ. He was the reason that we celebrate this season. I feel like all of the happiness and joy I have in life is because of Him, and I love Him with all my heart! I am grateful not only for what He did for me, but that He did it for all of us. Being a mother, I realize how much my children are going to need Jesus Christ in order to get through the troubles of life that await them. Christ can do things for them that I can't and I'm so very grateful for Him. I'm also grateful to belong to His church.

This was our family Christmas celebration where Grandma and Grandpa taught all the grandkids about Jesus. The pictures are of the kids playing out the birth of Jesus. Above is cousin Annicka dressed as Mary.
This is cousin Elyxzia as one of the angels.

Aaron was the Inn Keeper.

In nursery at church the really nice nursery leaders made aprons for all the kids with their hand prints on them. Paolo said Aaron looks like a waiter. I just thought he was adorable!

Christmas morning. It took Aaron a while to get the hang of opening Christmas presents. He got a toy telephone from mom and dad, and he loves to walk around talking on it!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all of our friends!

18 months old

Aaron is 18 months, and I can see a big difference in him! He's just learned to say "no", and he says it all the time. No means no, it also means yes. It's also his favorite word when he doesn't know what else to say. Some of his favorite things now are: eating cereal, smiling at the camera and then looking at himself afterwards, ring-around-the rosies, his slide from grandma, old diaper boxes that he's turned into a mini slide, apples, taking his shoes and socks off in the car, and trying on our shoes.
It snowed really good two days ago (today too). So we pulled out our little sled and Aaron had a lot of fun being pulled around. Then we made a ramp with the snow and he had a lot of fun going down that until he fell in the snow and started crying.

Cheesy as ever!

Aaron's learned a few of his body parts, and one of the few that he gets right on a regular basis is pointing to where his head is. The only other thing he always gets right is pointing to where mom's baby is (in my stomach).

Trying on daddy's shoes. Thankfully his feet won't be that big for a while!

starting to climb

Aaron has figured out how to start climbing on things. He's figured out if he pushes his toy box on it's side, then he can climb on the empty TV stand, and then get to the computer. This is a video of him doing that while I was working on the computer.

#2 on the way

Aaron was in the middle of crying, but paused and smiled for the camera.
Mom and Aaron while visiting some of my old roommies from BYU. It was almost 10 years ago. Yikes!

Playing outside in the leaves.
We're happy to announce the arrival of Palmieri #2. I'm due May 22nd. We'll know at the beginning of January if it's a boy or girl. I personally think that it's a girl, and Paolo thinks it's a boy. We'll be happy either way.

halloween 2008

This was our first trick-or-treating outing with Aaron. We went to my sister, Maureen's, work and did it there, and then we went around our house that night. I think we went to 10 houses. Enough to take some fun pictures. The only thing he got to eat was a sucker. We recycled the rest and gave it to those that came to our house.
What a ham!

This was at Maureen's work. He got hold of a sucker and refused to let it go. He managed to get the wrapper off really quickly and he went to town! This was the end result.

Getting settled in

I think that Aaron has food in his mouth at least 50% of the time. That's why he's not so skinny. He's not fat either, but quite solid.
One of his new favorite things is to make a series of faces. His latest to the list is making indian noises with his hand against his mouth.
I thought this Sunday outfit was 24 months, but it turns out it was really 18 months and fits snuggly. Bummer I thought we were going to use it longer, but he sure was cute on Sunday.

We're finally starting to feel more settled into our new house. I've found almost everything and we've gotten some of our list of things to fix up done too. There's nothing like a place you can call home.

New House

We moved this last saturday. I forgot how stressful moving is. It's nice to have a house of our own. I was trying to put the baby locks on the cupboards and draws. It was MUCH harder than it seems. I had to go buy an electric drill, but it didn't make it a whole easier. While I was sweating away, Aaron was doing what he does best- pulling everything out of the drawers. Ironically I was working so hard to prevent this. So that's what the picture above is.
He was making some good faces today. He woke up quite happy (and then it went down hill after that). Aaron's language skills are getting better. He understands more of what I say to him and can follow commands better. He's picked up two new words. The first is "ciao ciao" and the second is "grazie". Which are hello/bye and thankyou. After I warmed up his milk this morning and handed it to him, he smiled and said "grazie" and did the sign for it before he started eating. It was the sweetest thing ever.

This is the new house. Our new address is: 3713 Christy Hill Way, SLC UT 84118
It's a split level entry, and this is as you come up the stairs. The house is almost completely tiled except for the bedrooms.
This is the family room just to the left as you come up the stairs.
To the right is the hall that takes you to the bathroom and 3 bedrooms.
This is the upstairs bath. The rest of the house was not in a state to take pictures of. The basement has storage under the stairs, small laundry room, living room, and one small bedroom. It's nice to have our own place, but stressful knowing we have to pay for anything that breaks!

Le smorfie di Aaron

Aaron's new thing is that he makes this squinty smile that is really quite cheesy. Today he was doing a lot for me while I fed him some applesauce.
Laughing his head off while I made airplane noises and crashing noises as the food went in his mouth.
So much fun this little one.

There's not a lot new with us. We were really glad when Paolo came back from his little trip to Italy. We're plannin on moving this Saturday. We'll put in our new address when we post pictures of it. Julie is going to change jobs. She's moving down to Intermountain Medical Center (new hospital in Murray) because it's closer to our new house. She'll still be in the ER. That's all for now.

New House

Aaron is about to hit 15 months. I used to think that he'd get into a lot of things that he shouldn't, but it keeps getting worse. His new love is under the kitchen sink and getting into the garbage can. More than once have I found stuff from the garbage in his mouth. Yuck! Aaron wanted to come sit down inside after taking out the garbage. I love my little guy!

We just bought a new house in Taylorsville. We'll have pictures and the new address to come in a later post. Paolo just went back to Italy for 10 days and took the camera with him. We're not moving until after he comes back. We're really excited to have a place of our own with a yard!

Little monkey

We borrowed this monkey outfit from my friend Marian. She used it last Halloween for one of her little boys. We put it on Aaron at her house and he kept looking at himself in the mirror. So she let us take it home to use for a little while. I realize that it's too early for Halloween, but he was so cute, I couldn't wait to put it on him again!

Aaron loves to eat by himself, even though most of the food doesn't make it to his mouth, and the spoon is more a toy than anything else. The other day he was eating some applesauce and started picking up the spoon with his mouth and eating with his hands. I thought it was funny, so here's a little clip.

boys are fun

Boys are so much fun. Aaron loves to bang things and make noise. Lately he loves wrestling, especially with his dad. He loves to get on the bed and be knocked down a bunch of times. He loves to do it on the couch too. He's also really gotten into balls. He loves throwing them around and then chasing after them. It's an added bonus so that I can some things done around the house. :) In the picture above you can see that Aaron likes to sit on dad's shoulders and then get thrown off onto the bed.
There's nothing greater than Aaron's smile and laugh. I love my little boy to death!

First Haircut

Ciccio Pasta

I've been trying to let Aaron eat some on his own while I feed him. I've found that he eats more that way, and slowly he learns how to feed himself. Despite the fact that he eats a lot with his hands, he does use the spoon, kind of.
I love Aaron's new smile because he shows all 8 teeth.
Aaron has the curious habit of going and picking off the very few green tomatoes that I have on my plants and eating them. This is him trying to ingest it in one bite before I can stop him.
Aaron with my grandpa Wilson. I'd have put Grandma on here too, but the picture didn't turn out that great. Next time. I have to say that I love my grandparents and that I love going and seeing them.

Mr. Mischief

Our neighbor upstairs has a 6 month old. They came out to share warm, home made cookies, so I let Aaron have one. He really enjoyed it.
And then he stole the other kid's toy and started chewing on it.

Aaron is good at getting into things that hygenically speaking it would be better if he didn't. I VERY narrowly got a potatoe bug out of his mouth before it died. Yesterday he thought it would be great fun to eat the dirt out of my potted plants. He didn't even flinch at eating it. We had moved the toilet paper onto the counter for that very reason. What we didn't realize is that he is now tall enough to reach it on the counter. The result is what you see in the video.
